Dream System

If your had 100k to spend on a 2ch system of your dreams, what equipment would you choose?

Hummm, let me see...

I woud start with Verity Audio Parifal Ovations..teathered with Transparent Musicwave Ultra Speaker cables....

Amp would be the NuForce 9 SE V2 with a Pass Labs X1 Pre Amp with Crystal Cable Reference IC between everything....and Crystal Cable Reference power cords and a Magic Audio Mini Stealth to clean up the inflow of electricity...

Digiatal would be the Cary 306 Pro...and to top it all off, I would get a MacBook, Bel Canto 24/96 USB Converter and plug it into the DAC of the Cary...to be sure I have enough space, I would have to a something like a Licie 1TB External HD for my music storage....

Yup, that is what I DID and I couldn't be happier....actually, I am looking to change out the amps this year. Total retain is below 100K though, I suspect it is closer to $80,000.00....so with the extra I went ot Alaska and Costa Rica...blah blah..blah...

Well while I do agree that you can get good sound for less, I will try to answer your question.

Analog front end:

Basis 2800 Diamond Signature w/ Calibrator base.
Basis Vector 4 tonearm
ZYX UNIverse S-SB phono cartridge
Walker Ultimate Motor Drive
Walker Reference Phono Preamp

Digital front end:

Rega Saturn (what's the point? Save $$$ here).

Speakers:

Verity Audio Parsifal Ovation

Amplification:

VAC Phi 300.1 amplifier
VAC Phi Beta preamplifier

(4) 30 amp dedicated lines with Oyaide R1 outlets.
(2) Bybee Super Effect power conditioners

I/C's: Jade Audio Hybrid
S/C's: Nordost Odin
P/C's: Stealth Dream

I think I may now be well over $100K, but I'll bet it would sound fabulous.

Cheers,
John
Sorry, but no where enough money for my dream system. My dream alone turntable is $150,00. You did say dream...
If I had that much money to spare and put into music, I would be able to go to live concerts fairly often over the next 10-20 years, so I would not buy a stereo at all...
The nicest, most musically satifying system that I've personally heard is the Burmester Classic Line.

I agree with Shadorne though, that much money is not required unless you just have the money to burn.
For gear alone (neglecting room) that would be beyond my needs. I don't think it is necessary to spend that much.
