I had the Doge 8 for a short while and remember it having very nice bass extension, but certainly not excessive in my (fairly large) room. A wonderful sounding pre amp by the way. I did have to move on due to excessive hissing with LOMC cartridges. I highly recommend upgrading the tubes in the Doge 8.
Doge 8 with Berning ZH-270
Has anyone tried to get this combination?.
I have borrowed a Doge 8 to try with the ZH-270, with a view to purchase, it comes with the stock tubes (I would upgrade)
but on some albums i.e. the latest Steve Miller the bass seems excessive in my room, fairly small.
Any thoughts, thanks
