@immatthewj I got that email from them today also ,tempting.I like the J&J KT88,s I purchased from them nice robust sound but Id like to go back to EL34,s for a change I might go for it also.
Does anyone have experience to relate with the reissued Telefunken Black Diamond tubes?
I am specifically interested in their EL34s as Tube Depot has a sale going on ($54 ea) and my current set of one dozen reissued Tungsols may be getting into that phase of their life that having another set on hand might not be a bad idea.
What I did find by doing a google is that they are "made in partnership with JJ" and are manufactured in Slovakia.

@bikeboy52 , I sort of remember reading here that Tube Depot’s matching might be questionable. And they do say in their email that they sell in matched quads, so I guess if I want a couple of sextets I’ll have to call them. I also went to Viva’s sites to look at some EL34s, and those new stock telefunkens would cost more there. I wonder what the "UK Psvane Hi Fi" El34s would be like? |
