Do your speakers have the clap?

Not one of those finger, girly claps but a real solid palm-on-palm clap. Seriously, it's got to be one of the toughest things for a transducer to do convincingly. I've got $30K hybrid speakers and over 400 wpc that can slap my head back but I'm not sure they can do that. Interested to hear from horn, dynamic, and ES owners.

My GMA speakers easily differentiate an open hand clap from a closed hand clap....you can hear both with ease on live recordings.
The best recorded hand clapping I've heard is on a Dave Grusin album called "Migration".

I concur - Dave Grusin stuff is just awesome in terms of fidelity (not his live stuff though). Grusin's "Homage to Duke" is such high quality audiophile stuff!
Q. Do your speakers have the clap?

A. What to worry about when buying "ported" speakers used.

The best recorded hand clapping I've heard is on a Dave Grusin album called "Migration". The last five bands are a suite from his "Milagro Beanfield War" soundtrack. The last track, "Fiesta" has the best audiophile hand clapping I know ;--)
.
What cd should we test with?...I have no well recorded hand clap cd's that I can think of. I expect that, that would have a great deal to do with it.
