That's alot of raking!!
Do you have a speaker that’s not a big name maker but punches above its weight? Why?
I have a Gato Fm6. My reference for last 10 years. Sounds amazing. Designer used to work for Gamut. Amazing clarity. Great open midrange and vapor like treble that’s detailed , transparent and vapor like! What are others?

@thecarpathian , It's a deal! |
I have been ambivalent about posting this since i saw this thread as i like to avoid anything related to death at this point in my life, but i feel obligated to add this post to the others here as it is meant to honor the memory of the most genuine and kind person that i ever met in this business, and in all other phases of my life....Mr Rick Craig....Selah Audio....in Garner, North Carolina.... although Rick was originally from Indiana...While I only knew him for a few months, he was a man passionate about designing speakers that were unique, high quality, and that just plain sounded great.....i own his Ceramica Towers and Ceramica Center....actually his entry level floorstanders....3-way, front ported, RAAL ribbon tweeter, 4" SB Acoustics ceramic midrange, 2 6.5" SB ceramic woofers....beautiful figured walnut enclosure with specially made chamfered base....also have the Ceramica center with the same drivers in a sealed enclosure....best center speaker i've ever had.....not only wouldn't i ever sell these, i don't even think TMR could come up with an accurate and proper asking price....I met Rick when after 2 months one of my woofers had a problem, and instead of just sending me a replacement driver, he drove all the way from NC to my house in northeastern MD to replace it...wouldn't take a dime for his effort, or even a glass of water....such an incredibly nice man that was an incredible asset to our collective audio community...just don't see this anymore these days.....perhaps others may remember Selah Audio and Mr. RIck Craig...a true audiophile, outstanding speaker designer and absolutely wonderful person that is a shining credit to the human race.....miss you buddy, rest in peace.....hope this causes some fond remembrances of Rick for those of us lucky enouth to have known him,... and to those who are even more lucky if you happen to own one of his creations! |
