Do network streamers of different brands respond to a proprietary App?

For example: Will an OPPO UDP-205 respond to a request to stream music from the Naim app?

I have three stereo systems I am equipping for streaming. One thing is set, the choice of a Naim Uniti Core for my main living room stereo system. It’s purchased but not set up yet, so I’m speaking theoretically. Naim has an app which I had hoped to use to stream at my other two stereo systems too. Will non Naim network streamers respond to a request from a Naim app? If not, will I be forced to use different apps for my other stereos systems?

For example, I am still counting on getting an OPPO UDP-205 for my TV room stereo system. The OPPO lacks apps, speaks uPnP, or with a firmware update speaks Roon. Will it respond to a request to stream from a Naim app? Or do I have to use another app?

Similar problem at my computer stereo. There I have an Audio Alchemy DDP-1 USB DAC between my computer and my stereo system. It speaks Roon or MDP (whatever that is), I sense a compatibility problem!!

Yes.  The more I learn the more the more  it seems it’ll be necessary to stay within the same “ecosystem” to get whole house cooperation.  IOW, All the network streamers or endpoints will have to be Naim,  or Bluesound, for example.  It just so happens that my system has developed without knowing how important that might be.  At least all will be  Roon capable.
I I don’t know the answer, having no experience with the Naim app, but I will be very surprised if they all work.  It sounds like you are after a Sonus or Bluesound type of whole house system.
