It sounds like you are serious about this so I won't make any jokes. Heres the problem I have with your post.

"i would like to do my own install of caps and resistors (Vishay teflon if possible) i have no idea what to do"

" i just got my amp back from c/j and they charged me two hours labor to put in one cap. and thats is absured......."

If you don't have any idea of what to do then how do you know that 2 hours labor is absurd? I know that you would like to do this yourself and you're being genuine with your request for help. I wouldn't even consider doing this your self. You will need to pay someone that knows what they are doing. The only choice will be to pay and have it done right the first time, or pay to fix the damage you do on your own. It will be more than 2 hours labor.
If you are very serious about learning and potentially doing DIY projects you may get some good advice here, but you should go over to Audio Asylum and post there. They have a lot more propeller heads over there who will be more than happy to offer you advice, help, or just straighten you out.
You may wish to consider learning how to solder. Practice on things other than your audio gear, or you will destroy it.
