From what I can find out the European version of the Ayre CX-7 CD player has a completely different power supply from the American one. Anybody any thoughts on how this might affect the sound quality? I would have thought that the designer would want to ensure that the sound was as close to identical as possible and maybe it is but am I wrong to think it could be significant?
the ones for Europe have 230 Volt transformers that operate at 50 Hz, and the ones for the US have 120 volt transformers that operate at 60 Hz. I'm tempted to say that the differences are (ahem) *shocking*.
