Desktop speakers - KEF LSX II LT?

Hi

I want to buy good speakers to 1200-1300 USD. In the future I can buy sub, but I'm not sure if that is necessary in a room this size.

Room: very small, 16m2. Speakers will be quite close to the wall, around 20 cm. Very close to me either.

Application: Music, mostly bass-heavy (metal, rock, electronic). Occasionally movies and PC games. However, I wouldn't want the treble to suffer in favor of the bass.

Music source: mainly PC, but want wifi connection so occasionaly I can play with phone (Tidal, Winamp, i.e. high quality files; Spotify)

Country: Poland

KEF LSX II LT are my choice at this moment.

Other choices that people recommended me: Q acoustics M20, KRK ROKIT 5 RP5 G5, Debut 3.0 B6.3 + AMP, Triangle BR03 CONNECT, Auratone 5C

I was looking for a desk top system last fall, auditioned Focal powered monitors (bought and returned) Kef, Sonus faber (too much $ for what you get IMO) and finally settled on the Kanto Tuk with matching sub. For the money I’m quite happy with the sound I’m getting. Really liking the tweeter in the TuK and the sub matches beautifully. Less money than the other options with all the performance.
