Depends, but often true, I'm afraid. :) It doesn't really make the preamp sound any better or worse. It's not a great way to evaluate the quality of a preamp's sound, so just brush it off.
Crosstalk
Is crosstalk between sources on a brand new tube preamp something I should expect? I can hear my cassette playing on (low level) on all sources.
