Could use some capacitor advice :)

Hi

I am looking to upgrade some electrolytic capacitors in my tube amp. Power supply capacitors 220uF 450V either Audio Note Standard or Mundorf MLytic HV+. They cost the same.

My current RC filter caps are electrolytic and have a value of 22uF - 500V. I would like to upgrade them to film capacitors. There isn't much choice for those value, so it pretty much boils down to:

Mundorf MCap EVO Oil or ClarityCap CSA.

The Mundorfs are 450V rated and then ClarityCap 630V.

Mundorfs are also $12 cheaper ($33) ClarityCaps are $45.

Maybe you guys know something I don't :) Which ones provide better value? Is the ClarityCap worth the premium?

What do you guys think?

Cheers and thanks!

Lots of good info here.   And the guy is well respected.

I just ordered parts to upgrade my crossovers and did a lot of research.  I went with more expensive caps in the signal path but I think those you list should be good choices for the power supply.  I would probably go with Mundorf as a more respected name but the clarity is highly rated.

Good luck,

Jerry
