Finally getting around to upgrading a pair of CJ Prem 8's, sending to Bill Thalmann , with the V-cap capacitor upgrade. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this and what power tubes , 6550 or KT 120 one might recommend?
I expect you'll be quite happy with the results. Aside from the cutf V-caps the other upgrades that Bill will perform. You're in good hands. I have no comment regarding which tubes might be preferable with these amps. Haven't heard a pair in a system for years but was always impressed with the Premier 8s.
