Some of the vintage Infinity speakers were referred to as "amp killers" because they had a very low impedance dip, down to 1-2 ohms. I believe the Kappa 9 was one of the "amp killer" infinity speakers. You are not going to want to power it with a modern HT receiver. You need to repair your old amp or buy an amp that is capable of supplying big power into a very low impedance load.
