Mike, unfortunately, I heard the Devore's in a showroom, so no direct comparison to my Zens. I did compare with another speaker of interest to me the Art Emotion Signature. I was shocked how poor the Emotion's sounded in comparison, boxy, congested and lacking the refined highs of the Devore. I suspect the new Art Deco's are a lot better and nearer the Devore's, but a lot more costly too.
It struck me listening to them, that the reviews on 6moons etc have nailed it. The Devore 9's do'nt shout listen to me, they are just soo refined, accurate, neutral and detailed, really relaxing to listen to. Others have said that if a new item sounds dramatically good, there is probably something wrong with it, it is not neutral and will pale on you with time.
The Acoustic Zen's are similar in many ways, neutral across the frequency spectrum, accurate, very enjoyable to listen to. The Devore's just do it better, but so they should, they are more expensive. The Devore's sound like they are, a superficially convential speaker, but designed and built with great care, voiced by listening to them, not by computers
