georgieporgie probably came from the bottom of a just finished Vegimite moonshine bender but what brought him to this thread was his never ending quest for revenge at losing so many arguments. Keep your Dingos away from him when he's like this folks, or he'll be up on charges again.

As for earlthepearl, how can we forget the noble fight he put up in defense of the defenseless, which got all his posts deleted last time around. Seems that revenge is the rage with these losers.

You're still smarting over what you did on that other thread. It was you who attacked me. When you first attempt failed, you started with the name calling. When that failed, you accused me of sympathizing with cops killers. When that failed was about the time georgie chimed in. When he was of no use, you played the race card and accused me or racism, with of all thing, a quote about Dingos and georgie's perverse affinity for them. 

Classic projection from a bully. And it's sad to think the youth of our nation serving in the CAP are being taught by the likes of you, and that you'd hide behind it's skirts, using it as some kind of shield of immunity, as if just saying it absolves you.

What we're often hearing from many higher priced class A/B and good quality class A amps, are amp designs that intentionally emphasize or overemphasize the even ordered harmonics, which tends to be perceived by humans as a warm coloring added to the music that many individuals prefer.
     Better class D amps generally have a very accurate, detailed and neutral sound quality, with little to nothing added or subtracted to the musical signals that results in a very high degree of faithfulness to the recorded music. This is something one needs to experience to make sure they enjoy this type of amp design and sound signature, since it equally and accurately reveals good and poor quality recordings without prejudice. You may prefer some added coloring either through the amp or via tubes in the dac or preamp. You won't know for certain until you hear the differences between them with music that you're very familiar with.

To wake up and see that Admin had a knee jerk reaction to the unfounded claims of racism from a pair of losers sickens me. And they still have georgie's post up in the matter. 

After losing so many arguments in the past on the simple matter of fuses only to see georgie jump in from left field on a discussion of Class D amps to join in with earlflynn, who's still pissed off from his lame attempts to protect MC when he went off the rails on another thread, shows more than a troubling trend.

Neither one had anything to add to the discussion and just dog piled on me for revenge's sake. Then to have Admin fall for the asinine, hail mary claim of racism against me speaks volumes for their ineptness. Their quotes of what I said had no racism whatsoever in them. If it was their intention to just clean things up, why leave georgie's slanderous comment up at the top of this page?

Both of these are unstable characters, yet Admin seems to want to play the hand of least, true moderation for the sake of, what? I certainly don't understand. When bullies are bested at their game with good doses of humor, it seems to enrage them, but hey, that's my style. I never opt to go as low as they do, which seems to make them only mad as hatters.
Having Admin mess things up even further puts a real sour note on the whole matter.

Sorry to hear about your son but you're sadly mistaken in thinking I hate cops. I have one uncle who was a captain and ran 44th St, Shootin' Newton, Rampart and other divisions. He was also in IA and sorted out the bad cops. He was also one of the lead investigators in the Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan cases. 

The other was an Asst. DA for over 30 years with a 98% conviction record, and while we're at it, another was a fire battalion chief. You know where you can stick it. Besides, it's not the side I support that stormed the capitol and beat and killed police. Were they people you supported?

Next, where did you get the idea that I'm a strong supporter of Class D? I'm just asking questions that you need not butt in on since you're all into tubes with your Hungarian Ghoulash amp, so remember, don't drink and fly when getting those tubes. We'd hate to lose you as you're such a distraction.

It seems comprehension is not your forte. Why would I ask about the Technics if I've already tried it in my system? Not ranting. Not raving. Just asking. There's no magic in words so saying something stupid doesn't make it so, no matter how many times you say something stupid. Capisce? .

@mapman , what you describe is pretty much what I've read about the Technics. Sound with no unnecessary flavoring. Only one reviewer felt that it sounded a bit cooler when running coax from the SACD companion piece. He went onto say that it was like listening to someone who perfected their playing but sounding a bit robotic. All of the reviewers loved playing their turntables through it, but I just use CDs, so there's that.

Class D started as the "beyond meat" of amplification designs.

Now, that’s funny. But, looking at the Technics, they’re not using an off the shelf Class D unit but designed theirs in-house and turned the whole thing into one big DAC/power amp, again, not using any off the shelf DAC from another make.

A retailer told me that Technics is doing things other companies simply haven’t thought of. The only other company that comes to mind is Esoteric, who developed their own DAC architecture in some of their players. There must be some others but I haven’t researched enough to suss them out. FPGAs are becoming commonplace but this is another kettle of fish.

Tempting as the Legacy is, it’s more than I need and I’d have to get a pre amp as well. An integrated is all I need. I found some German reviews that said the Technics bettered a Lavardian integrated, an AVM, and stood well against one reviewers $30K set up.

Now reviews are dime a dozen but even one reviewer answered my email and said to just get it as he almost kept the one he reviewed.

I’ve had my present set up since 2013 and from what I’ve read, the tech has progressed enough to make a difference. It’s just that those new speaker cables made such a drastic improvement, but I know I’ll eventually get that itch....

Thanks for bringing this up. I've been on the fence for the last month or so over the Technics SU-G700. I even got a quote for trade in on my old gear and although a bit on the low side, I'd get it for about 1/3 of asking price.

The only thing stopping me from taking the plunge is some new speaker cables that have completely changed the sound of my set up to the point where it's all new music I'm listening to. 

I still have this nagging urge to just get it as the few reviews out there really like it.
