''It depends...'' . There are not many ''retippers'' who do ''stylus only retip''.

The best in my opinion is ''Expert stylus'' in UK. Alas they left the Union so

one need to pay their VAT and your own import duty. Much more easy is the

''whole retip'' with cantilever included . But this is more expensive. I would

never again do this ''whole retip'' . Certainly not with my ''exotic'' cantilevers.

Thanks Raul. Searching for relevant information is not easy. I was

''spoiled'' by my friend Axel Schurholz so I had no worry about

''which retipper''. Alas he passed away so I was forced to search

for some other. So I deed find ''Expert Stylus'' in UK but when

they left the Union they also lost ''competitive prices''. In E.U.

one need to count VAT ( +/- 20% + import duty of 13 % ) as

added cost by rettiping. So the circumstance where the retipper

lives become relevant info. As is the case with your carts collection

you also have ''extended'' knowledge about reapair services.

In this sense you can help  other in both ways. (grin)

''

mijostyn, Your assertion is that manufacturer ''do rettipinig.'' either  of

''stylus only '' and/or cantillever/stylus combo as they buy by either

Ogura or Namiki. But logic ''say'' that if the assertions are not true than

deduced statemnet from them can't also be true.

Your further assertion is that THOSE are much better than those by the

so called ''repair services''.. Both your assertions are ,say, problematic.

One can get an ''new generator''  with  cantilever/stylus included which

than is gluead in ''your cart body''. Those are known as ''exchange''

possibility. However those are pretty expensive. No wonder that many try

the ''conventional rettipers''. But they seldom do ''stylus alone'' retip..

The complete cantiver/stylus combo is much more easy to do: gluiing

the combo in the joint pipe on which back side coils are fastened.

Besides this kind of retip is twice as expensive (+/-).

That is why I was thankful to Raul because Expert styus in UK is

not anymore attractive for E.U. people ( ''taxes'')

If the retipper which Raul mentioned is in your country you should try.

Raul is the best info provider I know. I even purchased  all MM carts which

he recommended despite the fact that I use ony MC's.

What about coils repair? As far as I know only Northwest Analogue in UK

does coils but very expensive. I doscovered one in Poland. He fixed my

Kiseki Agaat. The address is: tomaszkotlewski@gmail.com

My Kiseki was refused by Expert stylus and even my friend Axel Schurholz

refused to do coils. He bought second hand carts for the coils.  So I was very

glad with Tomasz . I hope Lithuania will  also do the coils so we will have

more possibilities.

The saying is ''seen is believing''. Well look at coils as made by Jan

Allaerts cartridge. He does his own coils with very thin gold wire.

If I was forced to do such work I would prefer to kill myself. No wonder

that many rettiper hate to even think about. So Northwest ask 700 GBP

for coils with ''thiker wire'' because his ''lathe'' can't manage ''thin kind''.

By German EMT they asked 1200 euro's for new coils for Shiraz an

modify TSD 15.

One can get the ''whole TSD 15 for this kind of money. So for all who are

not related to Rockefelers or Russian oliegarch interesting info.

Dear Raul,

You spolled my illusion to have provided some new interesting information .

But thanks to my ''Polish discovery'' I would dare at present to buy an

second hand cart with defective coils. Before I would not even dream

to do such a thing  Not to mention implay  discount.
