Cartridge Man's "Isolator" - Good for older arms?

My simplistic view is that the better the arm, the less benefit from such an isolator.

I don't expect this tweak to knit a silk purse from a sow's ear, but can those of you who've used one share your feedback, particularly with good, though vintage, tonearms?
