Can LM224 be used to process an AC signal?

To use LM224 to process an AC signal (plus or minus 500mv), the op-amp is powered by a single power supply. Is this possible? Will the op-amp be burned?

To have an LM324 (the more well-known variant of this chip) handle an AC signal its necessary to have either two power rails (positive and negative) or a mid-rail generator circuit.

Better to ask this question on DIYAudio I reckon.
