Can you treat the room as well?? Those are pretty wide dispersing speakers which do better away from close surfaces. The EQ will help you fix the bass bump you'll get, but the lack of clarity from the positioning will make the 804's kind of moot.
Can b&w 804 be placed near wall?
I've tried googling this but no luck. I'm looking at purchasing a pair of b&w 804's but have some limitations in my room. My room is roughly 14'W x 21'D x 8'H. The speakers will be on the short wall but I only have about 21" to work with off the wall. So the back of the 804's would only be about 7" off the wall.
I do have MiniDSP SHD with Dirac for room correction so I would hope that can solve any problems.
