Can a power conditioner cause electrical problems?

I recently bought an Isotek Orion Power line Conditioner with Isotek Elite 5 foot Power cord on Audiogon.
Last night as I was hooking up a new amplifier to it, The juice in the electrical outlet cut off.
It went dead.  I had to switch to another outlet.
I have been noticing other strange behaviors while using this conditioner, including temporary loss of power to components.
Is it possible this conditioner is causing problems? I’m afraid to use it at this point.

Not enough info.

I'm assuming unit and cord were both used.

Outlet cut off--what happened then?  Was the breaker tripped?  Or not?  Did the power come back on?  Did you lose power to all outlets on one circuit?

I suppose it's possible something inside the Orion is malfunctioning sporadically in such a way as either to trip a breaker or temporarily cut out itself.

Perplexing.

I have a simple test unit for outlets--a plug with 3 lights that light up different combinations of red and green, to tell you if there's juice and if everything is working correctly.
