The EV speakers are more efficient than the Apogee. To get the same volume you will have to feed the Apogee with more power on the volume control! If they are not loud enough you will need a more powerful amp to drive them!
Bi-Wiring Apogee Acoustics Duetta Signature Series II Speakers

My system was working great with a pair of EV Interface floor standing speakers. BAT VK-600 with BAT Pack amp, VK-5i preamp, BlueSound Node 2 source. Volume gain was excellent with the EVs with run of the mill Monster cable. I just hooked up the Apogees (that we’re deliver poorly by UPS Monday) to the same setup with bi-wired Symo ribbon cables that have always worked well with these speakers since they were bought in ‘88. However, the volume gain is bad. It is about half of what the EVs were producing. I don’t think there is an oxidation issue on the cables u connectors. I have one pair going from tweeter binding posts/one pair from the woofer binding posts that are stacked on the corresponding channel amp binding posts flat and tight. There is no bridge bar between the sets of binding posts on the speaker side. Also, the flow arrows on the cables are all pointing from the amp to the speakers. No hum, sound is clean, bass sounds fine. It sounds like a gain issue to me. I’m assuming I have these cables wired wrong, but not sure how. Any help is greatly appreciated!
