Bi-amp: bridge stereo amps or use Y adapter?

I’m planning to bi-amp a pair of stereo amps.  Would it be better to bridge the amps into mono blocks or would it be better to use a Y adapter coming out of the preamp and then bi-wiring the two stereo amps to drive the tweeters and woofers separately?
