Best turntable base & tonearm for $1000?

I have a Hana SL and looking to buy new or used turntable base and tonearm to go with it. A big focus is on vibrations... so anything with great dampening would be preffered.

Turntable base ?
Do you mean Drive/Motor (or Plinth if you already have a Drive) ?

Honestly, your budget is too low, because a good vintage tonearm alone cost $500-700 minimum. You can make a custom plinth for any drive, but you have to find a good drive first, not sure what you can get for $500, maybe some vintage direct drive like Denon PD-75 or Victor TT-71 or 81 ?

A mid mass tonearm for your Hana is probably Victor UA-7045 for $500-700 if you're lucky with a nice working sample on used market. Very good tonearm for the money.

If you can expand your budget you have to look for SP-20
Excel sound corp does not list  compliance in their specs. But it is probably around 12 um/mN. It is better to go with a lighter tone arm because you can always add mass. I would suggest the Mobil Fidelity StudioDeck. It is a beautiful little table with a simple but very effective tonearm. If your resonance frequency is high you just add a head shell weight.

Used SOTA.
