Best Stereo/Pair Amps under $20k - Mark Levinson No 536
I am looking to upgrade my existing pair Mark Levinson 333, want to hear even more quality of transient details, bass punch, midrange purity and airy real life like cymbals high frequency sounds in classical music.
I posted previously with recent experiment of high end Class D and Benchmark AHB2, The Class D lacking in overall sound quality and dynamic (especially poor in reproduction of high dynamic classical music) and the Benchmark AHB2 lacks in bass punch.
I concluded that I can not get significant improvement over my current pair of ML333 with less than $10k spending.
So, I increase my budget to roughly $20k in order to get more appreciable sound quality improvement.
I had (in the past) loaner of 336 at my house and it has definitely more transient sound than 333.
I had auditioned ML 436 and it sounds more lively than one of other fav Krell F600 and Pass Labs Class A XA150
I read reviews that ML 532H is improvement over 436 and old flagship No 33H
I also read that ML No 536 is another leap improvement over ML 532H
So, I am drawing conclusion that
ML 536 > ML 532H / No 33H / No 53 > ML 436 > ML 336 > ML 333
I am now shopping for good condition ML 536.
Is ML 536 one of the best stereo/pair amps under $20k for driving my B&W 802D3?
