According to empirical audio website, this dac has a low level hum. Has anyone heard this? I am not sure if I hear a hum, though I hear noise I assume is from the original analog recording.
I owned DAC2 and it was dead quiet. No hum, no nothing. It could have benefited from darker background though, but you could only notice it by comparing to much more expensive dacs, costing 2-3 times as much. Other than that, I think it's a great performer. Tough to beat.
