Any ideas folks?
bearing plate for my idler
With a bit of time on my hands I decided to create a collar for my bearing. I machined piece that acts as a stepped flange that will cover the bottom of the bearing
and hopefully improves rigidness
I will then shim the collar snug to the bearing bottom with ebony (or any tunefull wood I can source) at the same time will look into perhaps creating some sort of drain pin for vibrations
Thoughts on this line of thinking
The idler is a Lenco and the bearing has been swapped out and replaced with a custom bearing
the Lenco is in a wooden plinth a la Jean Nantais and there is a considerable gap between the bottom of the bearing and plinth based almost 4 inches
