Ayre ex8

I don't own an EX-8, but do own the QB-9 Twenty, which Ayre, as told to me by Ryan Berry told me is similar to the newer Ayre DAC models.
In any case, I doubt you will be disappointed.

The EX-8 has just been upgraded by Ayre to run cooler and deliver more power. I liked the sound of the original EX-8 much better than the AX-5 but not everyone agrees. It was a major step up from the AX-7e and Ayre Codex I was using. Sounded great with my Harbeth's and with the Vandersteen Treo's which replaced the Harbeth's.

I almost bought the EX-8 but settled on the Aesthetix Mimas instead. You should try to hear it with your speakers before you buy. Good Luck!
