Audio Research CD8

My first question is why do you think it would be an upgrade? Doing a search I see Premium, Classic and Eight, but not just Prologue. Which of these do you have, how long have you owned it, which tubes, what power cord, interconnects and to what amp is it connected?

Any and all of these will make a HUGE difference

I just completed comparing my Audio Research CD9se with a Berkeley Alpha DAC 3. While $5,000 less expensive the ARC wins for me even if they were equally priced. The differences minuscule. So, my feeling is only going back to a CD8... should be a spectacular sounding component.
