Audible Illusions or PS Audio BHK preamp

I currently run an Audible Illusions L3A linestage and Bryston BHA1 headamp with PS AUDIO BHK 300s.

Have an opportunity to pick up the PS Audio BHK pre at half price.  Any experience with AI and/or BHK?  BTW am running Siemens E88CCs in Audible Illusions for months.  Much freer upper end. Removes any trace of grain or hardness.  I've been assured by the dealer  the tubes well last despite AI's being tough on tubes.

I owned 3 different AI preamps I the past25 years, all were very musical. I would assume the BHK preamp would mate better with your BHK amp and it probably has more features.  My only question is the BHK components have only been around for a couple of years, yet they always seem for sale here.  Is there a reason for that?  Does the sound get fatiguing after a while?  The AI preamps were never fatiguing sounding.
I use the BHK preamp with the BHK 300 monos, for ~2 years now, and they are unfailingly musical in my system/experience.  I've stopped thinking about other possibilities in these system positions.  (Now, if my speakers would allow for a good SET tube amp........but they don't!)
I agree that I've never found my AI Mod 3 fatiguing. It's quite the opposite, it is designed with the philosophy that "Less is More" and "Keep it simple". It offers the best of both worlds as it is a hybrid preamp. It gives you the best from solid state and the warmth of tubes. It's designed with quality and the audiophile in mind. It's always been very reliable. I've heard rumors that it can eat tubes, but I've never experienced that at all. I have tried tube rolling and it's amazing how each tube brand has it's own sound quality. It has excellent bass, a smooth high end with transparency and projects a wide sound stage. It really has been an enjoyable preamp which I highly recommend!
