Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing

Today I picked up my Atma-Sphere Class D Amps. These aren’t broken in yet. And they are simply amazing. I’ve listen to a lot of High End Class D. Some that cost many times what Atma-Sphere Class D costs. I wasn’t a fan of any of them. But these amps are amazing. I really expected to hate them. So my expectations were low. The Details are of what I’ve never heard from any other amps. They are extremely neutral. To say the realism is is extremely good is a gross understatement. They are so transparent it’s scary. These amps just grab you and suck you into the music. After I live with them some and get them broken in. And do some comparisons to some other high end Amps Solid State, Tubes and Class D’s, also in other systems I’ll do a more comprehensive review. But for now, these are simply amazing amps.. Congrats to Ralph and his team. You guys nailed on these.

Like I said we all can’t be wrong. It’s not just my opinion. But some of the best spec’d gear sounds terrible. Anyway you slice it. Just not my opinion. At the end of the day…. It’s how does it sounds when the switch is flipped. That’s truly the end game. At that point spec’s don’t mean squat. I have seen some specs from these amps. And am not to worried about that. As they eclipse any amp under $10,000 I’ve had in my system. I can’t say under $16,0000 yet because I haven’t been able to put the Pass Labs XA60.8 or a couple others.
And yes these are just my opinions.

@kuribo

 yes it is… Your opinion on specs are just that…. A subjective opinion. You keep stating the same things Over and over and over again. When it’s just your opinion. I keep nicely asking if we can get back to others opinions with real world experience with these amps. You can’t seem to let it go and get back to others opinions. You’ve stated you opinion now let’s get the thread back to others opinions.

@kuribo

and that’s your opinion. So let’s now move onto what others with real world experience with these amps. And not keyboard jockies. How many times do people need to say that. I’ve probably said it 10 times.

@tinear,

   Thanks for your review. The Frankie’s are a great amp. And as you said excel in certain areas. I figured your review would be as such. As the AS Class D aren’t as good as my MA-1’s in the same areas. But your findings are basically mirror mine when comparing my MA-1’s. But there is no heat for summertime listening. Which is a bonus. Thanks again expressing your view point.

@fsonicsmith

Let me be clear, Ralph never asked me to post anything. I also am a huge fan of Pass Labs, Coincidence, VAC, as well as others. I was very surprised that I really like these Class D’s. As I have posted a long list of others that has been in my system that I didn’t like. And when comparing them in my system with other amps. They exceed my expectations. In fact they have exceeded many peoples expectations that have been to my house. I’ll be posting my impressions of the Aqua LaScala DAC. But I’ll be alittle more careful how I word it. As not to start with what happened in this thread. But I can say…. These amps are very very good. And don’t do anything poorly. They are definitely the best Class D that I’ve had in my system. JMHO

@holmz

No I am running Cullen Cables Power Cord. Hope this doesn’t open up a can of worms…. I use them on everything.

@kuribo

Just curious what is your agenda here? Just curious. You obviously have one. You’ve turned a good thread into one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen on Agon. You continue this circular conversation. I am going to stay away from the thread I’ve posted.
But before I sign off this thread. I’ve posted the numerous Class D Amps I’ve had within my system. Within this thread. And I can say I didn’t like any of them. Until the Atma-Sphere Class D. I am keeping the Atma-Sphere Class D over the Pass Class A XA60.8’s and XA30.8 I’ve had in my system. Let that speak for itself. As those amps in my humble opinion are truely excellent amps.

I thank those who had a legitimate conversation, questions, points and tried to keep those alive. I have some good  things to also say about the Aqua LaScala DAC but seeing how this thread went…. I think I’ll keep my opinions to myself.

@ghasley +1003… besides thread hijacking…. People should be respectful of others threads.  And not Hijack them…. Such BS..

@mglik you maybe very shocked…. If you get a chance roll a set of these in your system.

@bluorion I am running a Atma-Sphere MP-3 with Vcaps, Caddocks, and dampening. Running a Aqua LaScala DAC, Innous phoenix Reclocker as we speak with Roon. Much of what I listen to to Hi Rez…. It’s pretty damn good…  compared to the other Class D amps which I’ve had in my system. These are definitely the best. And probably in the center of the price points of the others. They in my opinion are better than the Class A SS I’ve also had in my system. I’ve listed all the amps I’ve had in the system earlier on in this post.

@ddafoe in my system I found the Atma-Sphere Class D was slightly better than the Pass XA30.8. I am hoping soon to put the XA 60.8’s in my system soon. And will be trying them a friends system with the XA60.8’s. But that’s my system and a few of us opinions. We had shared to the Atma-Sphere was slightly better all the way around. Was the your perspective in your system?
