Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?

For me there is one that has always been top of the list.

Edith Piaf…..l just can’t think of anything worse.

Do not get me wrong and consider my choice is in any way racist….l love to listen to music with songs in any language… Italian, French, Spanish…..

Russian and German can however be extremely demanding, but Edith Piaf (if possible in any language) is a potential harrowing experience.

Do any others on here have a similar artist, or artists that can trigger the same physical reaction?

@immatthewj

Now you have got me going…..

Butch Bacharach should never have been given that job of scoring Boss Cassidy and the Sundunce Kid.The music didn’t fit and the song was stupid. I didn’t see any ☔️🚲

The film was a success on account of the two leading men, but l still can’t stand hearing that song. It was played to death at the time, so that’s probably the reason why?

Even to this day l am sure that the film would have been much more enjoyable with an original dramatic Jerry Goldsmith or John Williams soundtrack. Much more likely to have been critically acclaimed without that awful pastiche music and the commercial sickly sweet “pop song”

@mylogic , since Snowflakes Keep Falling On My Head didn't do it for you, how about one about lord snowflake by Bob Dylan?  Snowflakes in The Wind?

How many posts must lord snowflake report

when his Bruce Derangement Syndrome kicks in,

the answer my fiend

is snowflakes in the wind

the answer is snowflakes in the wind.

Maybe I'll work on something by Frank's Crappa for lord snowflake as well.  Lord  snowflake is probably busy right now listening to his rare Dire Straits album which is titled Sultans Of Swing, but when he has finished he will probably report this thread and others.

@lordmelton ,

Wondering if you’re also a Concrete Blonde fan.

A lot of terrific often off beat songs, that are quite ’Zevonish'.

@thecarpathian  “Off beat songs”

l have heard that Zevon had an offbeat “Monty Pythonesque” style of wit and humour in his writings.

In that case l am pretty sure he would have no cause for complaint if his music was performed on an Aldis lamp.

And no one else could have any just cause to complain about it. I reckon he would have loved that scenario.  Is that zany or what?
