Anyone try this combo: Rogue Audio Ares II Magnum with Lyra Kleos

Looking for opinions from those that own or have heard this combination. I currently am using a Linn Linto with a Rega RP10 and am wanting to make a change. The tubed phono stage appeals to me for analog and this unit is in my price range.
The rest of my system is an Audio Research LS28SE, McIntosh MC402, playing thru Sonus Faber Olympica Nova III’s all communication via Cardas IC’s and Speaker.

I am open to other suggestions based on experience, but keep in mind, my budget is 3500.00, I recently retired and am locked in or possibly crazy to spend this much.

Other consideration in SS is Sutherland, Parasound to name a few.

Thank you

Theo

miijostyn, thank you it feels good

I have had the Kleos for quite a few years now and have always liked the Lyra sound. And it does sound good with the Linto, but hoping to find more performance with a new phono stage. I wish we a had a Sutherland dealer in the area so I could try one. But I do have them on my short list.

Yes I am using a Chord Hugo TT-2 with a Bluesound Node 2, I would like to look at something differnt than the Bluesound but there again the retirement club places restrictions on such frivilous spending or I could be asked to leave the club

Welcome to the recently retired club!

I am very familiar with the Kleos but not with the Rogue. The Kleos has a very low impedance and would mate well with a Current mode phono stage like the Sutherland Loco or Little Loco. This set up improves tracking and bass performance over the more standard Voltage mode systems.
