I'm sorry for your trouble-hopefully you can get a refund, or your speakers. Hopefully, these folks are for real. Calling your local FBI or Secret Service (Secret Service works on these sort of cases) is a good idea if you can't otherwise get a resolution.
The sophistication of some of the internet fraud rings is incredible. I'm not saying that's what this Italian group is- I know nothing about them, but they are out there. I was involved in prosecuting a gang of Eastern Europeans who made millions of dollars selling high end automobiles all over the world that never existed. I spent a week in Bucharest working with Rumanian law enforcement and we got them, but the intricate nature of the scheme was amazing-a lot of seemingly sophisticated people got taken for big dollars.
So, I'd be very careful about paying by wire, particularly outside the US, unless you really, for sure, know with whom you are dealing. Its easy to be tempted by a bargain and to think you'll be able to sniff out a scam, but unfortunately that's not always true.
Good luck getting this resolved.
