I’ve been enjoying the M Scaler, particularly with CDs, which with maximized oversampling now revealing the Qutest smoothness and spreadsheet of soundstage …One thing Qutest has that Hugo TT2 lacks, is subtle sound adjustments on the color dots, helping the prospects of extending listening without fatigue. I’ve also opted to go to AliExpress and pick up both the linear power supply and internal upgrade for my Bluesound Node X… hopefully a “sound $200 investment”. That way I can keep that great headphone AAA HEADPHONE jack in the Node paired up with my Focals, and continue to resist buying the Hugo TT2… (great to read so many of you talking up the sound of the Qutest over the price of the TT2… rebuking the disease!)
Anybody here upgrade from Chord Qutest DAC"
Chord Qutest is a strong contender, especially with linear power supply, but I’m curious about greener pastures, or at least different-colored pastures. Think my system is good enough to notice: ear 868l pre, pass xa30.8, omega alnico Xrs speakers. Streaming only.
Anybody here upgrade from chord qutest with other chord dacs or different brands altogether? What improved, what was lost?
