This reviewer from 10 Audio gave the new AU24 "e" speaker cables the first 10+ rating of anything which he has ever reviewed.

I tried the original AU24 speaker cables out a few years ago on a completely different system from what I currently own and found them in my system to be a tad too warm for my tastes, but maybe this new "e" series might be worth a try.

I Have directly compared the Teflon Vcap and the Auri T capacitors as well as one of my freinds I lent .1 caps as just bypasses the Auri T i tried in loudspeaker Xovers and on a preamp my freind did the same but also did a amplifier .The Auri T was just a little cleaner sounding with better low level detail in every instance My freind did several blind test I just used mine and my wifes ears and it was not that close the cleanness was just there on the AuriT cap I was using the Jupiter Flatstack caps which are wonderfull and rich this allowed the richness to still be there and just opened up every aspect of the detail .The VH had a slight veil compared ,But if you did not have the AuriT to compare to the Vh still was very good we are talking a few% points now.
I asked the company how much the new versions went for and all I got was a copy of the review.
John,
The poly Auricap version is what the V-cap was originally competeing with. This new Auricap-T is a new teflon cap to compete with the V-cap. I'd be interested in a head-to-head competition with these two teflons in various circuit locations. I have also experimented with the Auric hook-up wire and it is very good.
If your into DIY, Audience sells their Auric hook-up wire in two guages. I've had good results with this wire. Based on the description of the wire inside the AU24, it appears to be very similiar to the hook-up wire. BTW, I am currently using some AuraT teflon caps and have a very positive opinion of them.

Yes, I agree that you would think that Audience would be promoting more this new "e"(enhancement) technology. They are doing some serious advertising for their new Auricap T teflon cap, however.

I believe that is because from what I've heard the Auricap is taking a beating in the marketplace from the V-cap. The V-cap seems to have replaced Black Gate as THE capacitor.

Cheers,
John

Thanks Sherod, I found the description in the "selection" class. I would have expected it to be front and center in the Au24 product description. It would also appear that they will continue to produce the old Au24 and the newer Au24 "e".
It is mentioned in their website:

http://www.audience-av.com/cables/a_prices.php

It is amazes me that Audience's own site makes no mention of the "e" version.
I also tried the original AU24 speaker cables a couple of years ago in a somewhat different system. I also felt they were too warm for my tastes.

That is a good review though. May have to see if I can 'find' a "e" pair to audition.

Cheers,
John
