I just now learned of the passing of Andy. I met him in the early 80's on a trip to New York. I truly learned to "feel" music from the system we purchased. Andy invited us to stay with him once and it was neat to see his collection of soldiers, sit on a friend's patio and view the city at night. I loved the old water towers. I've wondered how much his soldier collection grew over the years. Andy flew to our home in Idaho and helped with our system once. When Andy came to Idaho, I remember the snow on the ground and taking him 4 wheel driving to the Owyhee Mountains to the south of us. I couldn't get him to take a snowmobile ride to the ghost town Silver City but it dawned on me that he was out of his element and being in the mountains was similar to my first experience with New York (I grew up in a town in SE Idaho with one stoplight). I know Andy ultimately enjoyed the adventure. No cell phone or satellite service during those days. I introduced him to my friend, "Mountain Bob". Both were a bit hesitant at first but I knew all was good when Andy mailed Italian salami from NYC for me to deliver to Bob. I hope they're both enjoying a chat in heaven. Andy is missed.
Andrew Singer Of "Sound by Singer" passed away yesterday
Andy Singer who owned an audio store in Manhattan and was also a lawyer, passed away yesterday. I was friends with him on Facebook and found him to be quite a fascinating person. He was opinionated and was never afraid to speak his mind. He knew a lot about high end audio and much more. I will miss him. Rest in Peace Andy.
