Airplay

Bluetooth seems to be universal.  How important is it for a streamer to be compatible with Airplay 2?  Same with Chromecast.

Assume two speakers in one room.

Thanks for any guidance!

I use AirPlay, Chromecast, and Bluetooth.  Having said that, I prefer good old conventional wired connections, but I could easily live with Chromecast as a sole source.  AirPlay is also very acceptable, just a slight drop off from Redbook CD. Bluetooth is, or I should say has been, the most sonically compromised of the three. There is a new new Bluetooth codec coming out that I haven’t heard so hopefully that might improve that area.

I have a boutique streaming service (Pristine Audio)in addition to Qobuz, and it is compatible with nothing except a computer.  My Cambridge Audio streamer offers all 3 of these technologies and I enjoy Chrome casting it it from my Android phone to the Cambridge .  If I am using the iPod instead of the Android phone then I have to use AirPlay.  I also use both of those for some Internet Radio offerings, particularly the BBC, which is infinitely preferable to listening to the same offerings at the Beebs 64 bps stream.

For me, Air Play and Chromecast have become so important that I consider them essential features on any streamer.  Ymmv

Airplay IOS, not for me. Fine without Chromecast. If you do any major streaming-Qobuz, Tidal or Spotify, no needy.
