Absolutely marvelous story and a fun jazz-ish recording

All credit to Rafe at Resistor Magazine. A great article and a fun recording. Album can be streamed on Qobuz. (Brendan Eder Ensemble)

The most interesting part of the article is that the guy wasn't a player for most of his life. Proof that if some is determined to learn a musical instrument, it doesn't matter how old you are-medical conditions aside if present.

The reading music part is most impressive. Most can learn to "read" music, but to be able transfer that to the keys is another thing.

I live with rheumatoid arthritis and a list of challenges but manage to play guitar.

Indeed, HOWEVER, if you read the whole article you will learn that the narrative to which you refer was just that, a narrative … for a concept album. Edward Blankman is a fictional character (“Blank-man”). The artist is the Brendan Eder Ensemble.

No offense intended. Reading your post above led me to believe that you thought the story was true. I should have given you more credit even though your post seemed to indicate otherwise. Sigh back atcha.
