About users with hidden agendas

If you know that a user is a dealer and they fail to disclose and attacks other users because they make a point against their interest, do you expose the user?

I know of a gentleman here that continuously posts and goes after people and does not disclose who he is. 

What are the ethics of this forum?

285 posts... I’ve been doing this for 30 years. In fact, since the days of rec audio high end. Nothing has changed, all the same arguments and ideological lines then as now ... It’s been exactly this way for three consecutive decades.

I was also there in rec.audio.high-end and @ted_denney is absolutely right. That’s why I don’t waste time in any of A'gon's "makes no difference/yes it does/no it doesn’t/show me the blind test" debates.

It’s not that users never change their minds, but that only happens to those who take the time to truly listen and put their biases behind. I think many of us started out as cynics. Some get stuck there.

High End audio is all about the subjective enjoyment of our systems, that’s what this hobbies is about for most of us.

That is certainly true, @ted_denney. It's only odd that it needs to be periodically stated.

But for the objectivist mob, High End Audio is about mocking and ridiculing real audiophiles ...

I'm going to quibble with this because the self-described "objectivists" here are often anything but. I think it is more accurate to call them measurementalists. They pretend to know how things sound without ever actually listening to them, will insist that they know what you can or cannot hear in your own room, and cling to their beliefs with a fundamentalist's religious fanaticism.

I posted one singular response, itself a total of five sentences. Calling that "follows suit, in spades" is absurd.

You’ll just have to accept that among the hundreds of responses in a given thread, I may weigh in with an opinion now and then.

Oh? I don’t see any mention of that in the forum rules either here or here. Frankly, I wish you were correct but that’s not how A'gon works.

The volunteer mods would have to babysit this place day and night to make sure that the policies are followed.

The mods here work for A’gon. They’re not volunteers.
