I don’t don’t recognize the line slaw, but I am reminded of a couple from my favorite, outside of Hank Williams, lyricist:
"You’re an idiot, babe, it’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe".
"We’re all idiots, babe, It’s a wonder we can even feed ourselves".
What I like most is Bob’s inclusion of himself by saying "we’re". I can think of a few other real smart songwriters (one in particular, who really had---R.I.P.---a superiority complex) who don’t and can’t think of themselves that way.
