8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC

Nothing wrong with buying what you want provided it brings you joy and is something you can afford.  I have some pricey equipment and I love it.  It has to sound great but I also like design, build quality, etc.  Some call it audio jewelry which is accurate.  It’s much like a nice watch.  A cheap seiko will keep better time but there’s more to it than just that.  Enjoy your Nagra!

Wow!!! Fascinating post. Normally the board is full of post that demeans the modest system and behold someone mentions a $50k dac and the board loses its mind. I’m still amazed at the flip flop by the attitudes here. Congrats on your dac and system. It’s a shame others aren’t able to appreciate your investment rather they attack it due to their shortcomings. 

Bought a Tambaqui a couple weeks ago, I find it simply amazing. Hopefully I get to hear a comparison sometime

The truly wealthy as a general rule don’t go around bragging about their wealth. They prefer discretion.

The same rule applies for the truly intelligent: it is far preferable that people underestimate your cognitive aptitude.
