And money is a tool - just like any tool it can be misused. I enjoy music and with home much electronics have advanced some folks view paying any more than a phone and service plan is too much money on music.

Spending this much on audio gear to chase the illusion of perfect sound is something we should all, at the least, view with skepticism. spending $50K + for a DAC is buying a Veblen good, IMHO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veblen_good p.s. I have spent plenty, but not is this range, and am happy with the system and am done.
