24/192 Distortion with a file from Qobuz

I had an interesting experience with distortion from 24/192 files that came from Qobuz. My usual way of listening to this type of file is to play it on the Sony UBP-X700 Blu-ray player and have it go to my Jolida DAC via coax. Well, this caused distortion at 24/192, but I read a message that said to convert it to 24/176.4, which I did on Goldwave. The new 176.4 played perfectly, without any distortion. But I wasn't done yet. I then tried to send the original 24/192 file to my DAC directly from my computer, using a USB cable. The 192 file played perfectly that way! So, I can only conclude that something in my Sony X700 Blu-ray was causing distortion at 192, but was OK at 176.4! I'm not sure if it's due to a setting or to the basic construction of the Blu-ray player. In any case, I now have two ways of getting excellent sound quality: either convert to 176.4 or use the USB cable to the DAC at 192.
