220v / 110v - Anthem STR Power Amplifier

Hello all, I have an Anthem STR Power Amplifier to power my Focal Sopra N2 speakers, and I love it. I live in Miami now but I will be moving to Spain in the next few months. I am told that they cannot do anything to transform my US 110v model to a European 220v model.   So I am wondering if any dealer out there in the US may take mine as a trade in and sell me a new 220v version.. Probably it's hard to get a 220v model in the US... but putting it out there. Thanks!

Very easy to use a trasnformer.  Make sure you use an oversized transformer so it doesn't limit current on your amp.  also buy a quality transformer to avoid hum.  figure $500 to $800 but a lot cheaper than trading amps.

I agree! Buy a proper size/watts AC step-up transformer on Amazon. You don't need to spend $500!

I am afraid it may introduce noise in the system, or not? And also...the eye sore. They ain’t pretty.

You want to pack up a huge 60 pound amp and ship it across the world to Spain AND buy a $500 to $800 big, ugly transformer that may reduce the sound quality?

Duh.

Just sell it and buy something new when you get there. It's just an amp and buying new stuff is fun.

@tony1954 I am tempted to do this. But I have been trying to sell some stuff and unless you put it at half price or less, no one is buying, it's a big loss.
