2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming

I've been doing this at the end of December for years for a number of years now- so here goes one more time-

What is on your audio wish list for the coming year?

For several years I anticipated the need to replace an aging (close to 20 year old) phono cartridge- I finally did that in 2021. I also changed the power supply for my turntable. I'm extremely pleased with my turntable. A friend gave me a slightly damaged but fully functional McIntosh subwoofer as well. All other gear is unchanged and with no desire to change anything.

I also bought a Bluesound Node which I am enjoying quite a bit. My ultimate goal is to use the Node in a bedroom system and go for a different streaming transport in my main listening area. I'm looking at the "usual suspects" - Aurender, Auralic, Lumin, etc.

As far as adding new music, getting into streaming (I use Qobuz) has caused a musical explosion! Since getting the Node in September I've built a library of about 90 new to me albums.

The Stereo Ultra in dual mono is close but I can give up some power.

200 w into 4 ohms is plenty for my use.

I am upgrading my Linn LP12 from the Akito tone arm to the Ekos se and swapping out the  sub chassis for the Keel.

My VPI record cleaner failed yesterday, so I ordered a Nessie Vinyl pro + record cleaner. Should be a nice improvement over the noisiest record cleaner possible… smaller and more elegant as well.

Later in the year if my investing goes well, I will upgrade  my LP12 with the Radikal power supply, Basically taking it to the top to see if it can challenge my digital end.

I am with @fuzztone on the mono block GaN though Orchard has a very reasonably priced GaN MB and they look great on paper.

Sounds like MC when he was opining for his Raven.

I've been ready for my Technics SU-G700M2 for a couple of months now and it looks like it won't be available until February. It's been 8 years since I've upgraded my integrated and for some reason, I barely listen to anything anymore.

Don't get me wrong as it's always rewarding when I do after a hiatus but for some reason, audio isn't doing for me lately. I think it's all from anticipation.

As for streaming, I'm not into that. Curating collections and maintaining accounts don't do it for me. But that's just me.

All the best,

No particular plans for 2022, but I didn't have any for 2021 and have a new, to me, amp. So we'll just see how the year goes. On your streaming quest zavato I'll just say that as an Auralic user I am a huge fan of their LDS app. To me the control app is a huge part of the streaming puzzle folks don't always consider. Unless you're using Roon of course.
