Best movie to see what your HT AUDIO will do.
Triple X. I like the whole movie, but I've shown the avalanche scene about 15 times or more.
Which $500 Speaker Next?
I like the PSB's. I've listened to lots of them. (Dealer disclaimer) I think something by them would fit the bill. I expect, based on your post, the golds might be a bit bass heavy. I would recommend something else in the line.
Help me pick a projector.
I'm still using an older Sony, and I like it a lot. When I added onto my house, I did a dedicated theater room. No widows, pitch dark at noon. I shot the pj on the wall for fun, even though I knew I was buying a screen. To my surprise, it looked f...
manufactured refurbished
I sell both new "A" stock, and refurbished, or "B" stock. As a rule, I have almost no problems with the refurbished products. Almost every piece of gear I have at home is "B" stock. I have never had a single piece of mine fail. In many cases, it i...
What brand is most recognized by non-audiophiles?
Audiophile brands are not recognized by the masses. If you aren't into it, you don't know them. All the answers above simply state what "normal" people have heard of. They are two different things...
New Speakers/Amps
PSB makes some great speakers in your price range. Subs also. You can actually spend less. There are lots of great others too. I've always liked Jolida gear. I'd consider an amp from them if I was looking.**PSB dealer disclaimer**
Repair of Bedini Amp
I don't know where to point you on that amp. It's a great little amp. I'd love to have one. I'm sure someone can help. If you end up not having any luck, I'd be willing to buy yours and sit on it until I figured something out. I've always wanted o...
Dahlquist DQ10: best reasonably priced power
They need power for sure. I remember thinking they were really good with a Belles 400 in our store. I was recently reminded of Bedini which was a great match too that I had forgotten about. I've heard them with threshold, and again, very good. Tha...
Size matters- recommend small system or component
Arcam solo. Nice piece.*dealer disclaimer*
Fun, small footprint, floor standers
I'm not sure what the "fun" part means exactly, but, ProAc has some great small speakers. Depends on budget. At a lower price point, PSB would be my first thought too. That's based on what I've heard only. I'm sure there are many more.
My PSB Subsonic 5i blew up
*dealer disclaimer*I really like the PSB subs. I find them really musical. I just lost my 3rd Velodyne recently, and the next one I buy will be a PSB. Like all of the speakers they make, I find them pretty hard to beat for the money.
legacy speakers
I'd be pretty upset over the $100. It's not a ton of money, but it's not right. If I sell something, and it's out of stock, I don't charge my customer until it ships. Even then, I let them know there is going to be a delay. If that's unacceptable,...
Dahlquist DQ10: what is best way to power?
Without knowing the budget, here's a few. A vintage belles, or hafler would be nice. Nakamichi PA7 would be high on my list. If I had them, I think a belles 400 would be my first choice. I think it would be cool to pair them with something from ro...
Upgrade help needed
The ProAc is a good choice for speakers. We used to carry the line, and I still have them at home. Nothing wrong with the PSB line either. I still sell them. I don't find them bright or fatiguing in the highs. I know people say that, but, I think ...
Rega Saturn or Sony XA5400: Sound or features?
Just for the record, Chayro and Jonathan, you didn't say, or do anything wrong. Sunnyjim, you really need to lighten up a bit. Nobody's poking at you. I've spoken to you about this too. (dealer disclaimer) I was honest and truthful. I didn't try t...
