how set the bias and hum in Antique Sound lab Go to Antique Sound Labs forum in harmonicdiscord.com. Leave a message for Joseph Lau. He owns ASL and has been very good answering my questions on that forum.
How hot do a pair of Pass Labs X600 amps run ? to heat.Conservation of energy. The energy is always there, though the form may change.Draw 600 watts of electricity in an amp and 100% will be converted to heat. Even if some is used to produce sound, this sound will degenerate into heat as it is...
Lower End Tube Testers: which are worthwhile There are a number of worthwhile testers other than a $1000.00 Hickok 539c if you know what information you wil receive.Almost any tube tester (rather than an O'scope) will NOT give tube traces or test at actual use voltage. What you WILL get is a...
Home Theater speakers....what to buy? ? I am most pleased with various sets of NORH speakers. 6.9sms for LCR and 5.1s for surrounds sound great. I am not affiliated in any way with NORH other than a satisfied customer.
How To Best Deal With Voltage Surges? A Tripp Lite LC 2400 or 1800 might be your answer, it was mine. The specs indicate that these autotranformers keep to 120v +-5%. Your power supply should be able to handle the 5% without problem (or its a crummy real world design). The Tripp Lite's...
Power Conditioning for a mid-fi system. Great line conditioning (1800 watts) and six outlets with good filtering and surge protection to boot. Heavy as a brick (large autotransformer) but you can't do better for the $$.About $130.00 USD (Do a Google price search).
Good speaker system for dollar Check out Norh.com. For your price range you could get a pair of 6.9sms; an three Norh 4s. You cannot do better for anything close IMHO.Not connected to Norh in any way (other than happy customer).
Where to buy a cheap relyable tube tester???? Very reliable and usefull for all modern tubes.
dedicated circuit, flex conduit? Flex conduit (BX) does not ususally come "prestuffed" with wire. In older applications the BX conduit itself was used as the circuit ground. You would definitely not want to do that in a modern circuit as it would usually not pass code and would b...
Willing to be proved wrong. While I haven't hear one, the RS battery phono-preamp is highly spoken of on several forums. For less then $25.00 your not out a lot if it is not your cup of tea.I don't think you can go wrong for the price with a lower cost Grado cartridge.
Help with Ohm Walsh 2's I have a pair of Walsh 2s that I no longer use. You can get replacement drivers through OHM at(I believe) Ohmspeaker.com.Ohm supports even its older speakers.I found the 2s very forgiving of speaker placement. I used mine with a sub-woofer.
Norh Speakers from Thailand: High-end or Hype?? Dismissing a product that could only be marketed at its price point via the internet on the basis of two opinions of people that you have never vetted or even met certainly will keep your life less troublesome (and, perhaps, less interesting).Good...
Norh Speakers from Thailand: High-end or Hype?? I have two pairs of the NORH drum style speakers. A pair of older 5.0 and a newer pair of the synthetic 6.9. I was so impressed with the 5.0 that I bought the 6.9s (white)which have been in my main system for over a year; relegating my B&W flo...
Subwoofer choices under 1K . NHT, Def, SVS I am very pleased with my SVS in my HT setup. No BOOM BOOM but solid controlled BAM.Can't beat them for anywhere near the price. IMHOStandard disclaimers apply. |
