How to test speaker cables by ChatGPT @vonhelmholtz Ask it if Aliens have found intelligent life on Earth. I posed the question. It gave a long response about there being no proof to date that aliens have visited our planet or made contact. However the very first sentence was suffi...
Seriously though, maybe the best tweak is exercise? Without a doubt vigorous exercise releases good brain chemicals and opens the mind. Music always sounds really good when I’m done.
Favorite genres for fun listening I have become a big jazz fan purely because of the detail and depth I hear on my system. It’s just background music for me on anything else. I also have developed a liking for some electronica for the same reasons. Am I listening to the music or t...
Digital coax cables @gammamike Thanks for the Silnote suggestion, I will check them out.
The Right Speaker Cables @derfman66 I am on a similar quest and have tried four different cables under $500, including Blue Jeans which are still in favor. I have noticed more differences with speaker cables than any other type of cable. I know there is something better o...
Digital coax cables I have been looking to upgrade my digital cable as well, I have a BJC and a Cullen, which work well but I cannot perceive any great difference between the two. I would like to try solid silver and the Take 5 Neotech looks like a good option, I nee...
Advice on speaker replacement I love the LS50s, but the Yamaha doesn’t have the power to do them justice. I would lean towards something more efficient. Something bigger for your room size might be wise, as the others have stated.
CAT 5 in 2008 built house CAT 6 has more shielding and would pick up less noise. Or, do the fiber thing with a nice piece of CAT 8 on the end. Noise is the enemy of digital, anything you can do to reduce it is good.
Is Imaging Worth Chasing? I got this. I have a constrained space as well, 9' x 11' room with the speakers on the long wall no less. And, they are LS50's. For a long time I had my speakers 5-6' feet apart and thought they imaged pretty well. Then one day, ignoring the compl...
Looking for advise with selecting next integrated amp Sound-wise I think the Coda CSIB is worth a listen.
What to listen for? @ghdprentice I got halfway through your post without looking at the author and said to myself this has to be ghdprentice. Ever the voice of wisdom in this forum, I could not agree more with your comments. I am in the middle of a speaker cable sear...
Recommendations for better computer speakers I really liked my AudioEngine A2+:
Fantasy or reality? Inexpensive solid state preamps that get you 80% there? I own a Freya + that I mostly run in solid state mode. I believe it is quite good, and was a significant upgrade from my NAD. Given the price of the S models, I think it is a pretty cheap experiment to try one, and resale value is good for these u...
Quicksilver v4 monos vs CODA Continuum No. 8 Version 1. I am “biased” towards the #8 because I have one. Amazing sound. Maintenance and heat-wise it is also the winner. However it would come down to your preference and synergy with the speakers.
recommendation of amps Coda is worth a look. A #8 would work well for you. |
