the benefits of romex & oyaide WPZ Agreed....getting rid of Romex and going with good quality OFC (10 gauge, I did not use Oyaide, just good high quality OFC) in a good conduit with correct grounding, etc....accompanied by Oyaide R1s did wonders for my last 2 systems as well!
The pursuit of bass... Agreed with all that has been said hear regarding getting all frequencies as close to 'right' as possible and the difficulties of getting midrange right as the alternative is often hard on the ears and intolerable. Full spectrum bass adds so much ...
Dream system - but no aftermarket power cords I'd suggest that you first get a very good power cord on the Tesla unit as that is the first and one of the (if not the most important) cord in the system. Any component upstream will benefit in part from this purchase.
Pre-Amp vs Processor What player are you considering? I definitely agree with Rcrerar above.....

What kind of cable do I need According to the manual, the BD35K has both Coax and TOS Link. Is the BD35 an older model? If it only has TOS Link then you'll use that to go into your DAC. This presumes you are only looking for 2-channel (unless your DAC does more than that).
What kind of cable do I need Do you mean the DMP-BD35K? According to Panasonic's website, this and the other network connection are for BD-Live compatible devices and allow you to connect your player to both the internet (to obtain BD-Live info, firmware updates, etc...) as w...

Sherbourn 7/200a experience wanted You will like it very much I'm sure; Markeetaux's comments are typical of other 7/200a and 7/2100 owners I've run across. Markeetaux's comments reminded me of something I forgot to mention above namely that before I picked up the Sherbourn PT-7010...
krell 20il or ayon cd5 That's a great question...a fellow A'goner and myself were just talking about whether his 25 was better than the Ayon CD-5 two days ago. Let me know what you hear in the way of feedback as the 20 and 25 were both great units in their day and the A...
Outboard surround decoder? Yamaha made a very good one in the late 90s that allowed RF, TOSLink and S/PDIF inputs with 5.1 RCA outputs. The model number does not come to mind but I owned one in 1996-1999 and remember its performance very fondly. It did DD 5.1 and Dolby Pro-...
Sherbourn 7/200a experience wanted I previously owned a Sherbourn PT-7010 (surround pre/proc) and 7/2100 7-channel amplifier (the previous version of the 7/200a. As a matter of fact, the 7/200a looks identical to the 7/2100a I owned in every respect though they may have found inter... |
