"Many challenged me as I can't troubleshoot BMW without super-fancy professional scan tool, but I proved I could do that with just a test light just to impress shops right in front of manager's eyes during the interview."What exactly did you do? Y...

"06-05-15: Stereo5McIntosh uses auto transformers which makes the power output the same into 4,8 & 16 ohm speakers."That's true on most of their amps, but the MA5200 doesn't have them. That may be the answer to your question Paraneer. Maybe the...

"06-05-15: Rodman99999Like I said, "Unless your cabinet is metal: forget about it!" That DOES allow for the possibility of the OP's cabinet being metal."I didn't mean to snap at you. Sorry.
New speaker technology vs. Old speaker tech???
You're question isn't really about technology, than it is about what you prefer to listen to. An aluminum ribbon tweeter in a new MA can have the same issues that a 10 year old Magnepan, or even my 25 year old Clements RT-7's have. They can be a b...

"Anyone know the reason why McIntosh does not give this model a 4 Ohm rating? Especially if it supposedly tested as such?"My best guess would be that McIntosh is known to be one of those brands you turn to if you need something very powerful, kind...

"06-05-15: Wolf_garciaTry black auto touchup paint (usually in the little glass vial with a small brush). I've used this to touch up a black electric guitar ding and it can work. Use multiple coats and wet sand with small grit followed by some car...

I like the blue meters.

To be fair, the parts cost on all car brands are extremely high. And there's a reason for it. Car companies struggle to make a profit selling cars. There's a lot of competition, and not a huge markup on the cars themselves. Also, factor in the cos...

Before you do anything you'll need to find out what kind of paint is on the speaker and if it has a clear coat. Once you have that, try a body shop and/or a place that does powder coating.

That's what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure you didn't take offence to any of my comments.

I used to date this Russian girl. She told me there were only 3 letters in the Russian alphabet: BMW.
Help - new house - new setup?
"06-04-15: JdorisDon't think of your room as a problem, think of it as an opportunity to try some stupid big speakers. :)"At least someone here is thinking clearly. For a moment there, I thought we were fresh out of audiophiles.

The German's used to make good cars, but they've been going downhill fast. They're so complicated now, its a miracle they even start to begin with. German's aren't the only ones, but they are the worst.

Something tells me you've never worked on one.
